Manick Rodrigo

Manick Rodrigo has a proven track record in tourism management and leading the Barberyn group of companies through a period of successful expansion with his creative entrepreneurial and management skills. He graduated with a Higher Diploma in Hotel Management in 1972, as one of the first batches of students of the Ceylon Hotel School. Manick rapidly developed Barberyn, establishing a complementary group of companies that provide the services needed for the operation of the core business of Medical Tourism. These include Engineering Construction, Travel and Tours, Organic Cultivation, production of Ayurveda Medicine and Oils, Training, and Security. Barberyn celebrated 50 years of quiet achievement winning many accolades. These include the best exporter of Health and Wellness Services for eight consecutive years, and the National Green Awards Gold for the Tourism Sector for Sustainable and Eco-tourism Initiatives. Manick was influenced by Dr. A. T. Ariyaratne and his Sarvodaya movement as a teenager while studying at Nalanda College. His vision for Barberyn focusses on Human Development and he incorporates consciousness and compassion into business.
