Mr Jagath Gunawardane

Mr Jagath Gunawardane is Chief Meditation Teacher of Vishva Niketan. He has been a meditation teacher for the past 15 years. He served as the Director of Vishva Niketan for 8 years. He is the lead meditation teacher for all the meditation programmes organized by Vishva Niketan. One of the key responsibilities he has held as the lead meditation teacher is to guide the monthly three-day meditation programmes conducted at Welikada Prisons for 350 prison inmates. He was also the main meditation teacher for the programmes conducted by Vishva Niketan at Mahara, Bogambara, Kalutara, Kuruwita, Watareka, Galle and Matara. Mr Jagath Gunawardane has held many positions at Sarvodaya Headquarters from 1981 – 2007 including the Operations Associate of the Social Empowerment Programme and Programme Coordinator of the field Operations Division.
